As each song is released, I’ve yet to be seized by his voice, but perhaps embraced awkwardly.  That feeling you get when you’ve taken your dog to the vet and he slowly warms back up to you, it doesn’t take long but its uncomfortable at first.  That’s how I feel about Mr. Hudson.

I do appreciate the humility Mr. Hudson expresses as he discusses straight no chaser in the video, especially in light of another of Kanye’s protege’s insistence that he is sliced bread *ahem* Cudi.  I believe Mr. Hudson has what it takes to become a star of some renown, at this point there needs to be some sort of watershed moment for him: a great guest appearance, performance, or an undeniable single, one of those that will have everyone saying, “I knew about this guy a year ago,” and telling friends they discovered him.  We’ll wait and see; I’m writing down what I will say.

There is a lot that goes into this particular reason but due to the breadth of each facet, they each warrant their own post.  So for this post I’ll focus on the fact that society finds it necessary to pump women full of pills simply for a myriad of reasons, some i agree with.

In short these are birth control pills, but unbeknownst to me there is more to it than to stop my swimmers from incubating for 9 months.  There is a myriad of other reasons: cramps, acne, depression, anger, etc.

I’ve come to find this out from my buddy who’s girlfriend for the past 2 years has changed among 3 pills 5 times in the 2 years he’s been with her, WTF!?

The kicker is she has switched between them about every 5 months because she was tired of the side effects of one, then switched, was tired of side effects of that one, then switched.  Its some sort rediculous cycle, that we as men simply must endure.

According to trusted sources, during the months of July and August 2010, we should see a significant increase in the national birth rate.  Currently standing at 14.18 births/1000 people, the figure is expected to rise to approximately 17.32 births/1000 people during the aforementioned months.  At first many were stunned by such an assertion, but  upon further investigation of historical data by the Obstetricians Association of America and The National Board of Practicing OBGYNs, it is not an uncommon phenomenon; it last took place in 1979.

The experts are tying the occurrence to today’s back to back 5:30pm & 6:30pm cst sets by Raphael Saadiq and John Legend at Austin City Limits.  The last occurrence of such a “sexual eruption“* took place after the joint Al Green/Teddy Pendergrass Tour in 1979.  The Green Grass Tour is responsible for what is still a record birth rate, clocking in at 20.13 births/ 1000 people.  So the good money will be in Obstetrics for the foreseeable future.

If you don’t know the young man above then you’ve been deprived of the most refreshing presence in hip hop.  A true torch bearer of the unique Atlanta fusion of hip hop, soul, funk, rock originating from the Atlanta collective known as the Dungeon Family is Bobby Ray a.k.a. B.O.B.  From growing up in Ga., those artists were those that changed hip hop in content and sound, and B.O.B. is another step forward.

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing catching his energetic and live band infused set twice.  Each time relieved by his passion and ability to capture the crowd.  Particularly those that may have only heard a track or two and are at first taken aback by the live instrumentation, and then shortly there after brought in like a baby leaning forward for its nourishment.
